No doubt, you imaginated amazing solutions and interfaces, trancending contemporary technologies and implementations. However, one thing I can tell for sure is; you didn't imagine the process of searching, downloading, installing and regularly updating applications as we do today.

Karaqu introduces a fast distributed filesystem, accompanied with high fidelity software delivery arhitecture. This might sound like a soup of buzz-words - ipso facto a translation is in order;

Your files and applications are always stored in the cloud and available on any type of hardware you use. When you open an application, it is always the latest version - no installation, upgrade or uninstall - just run it. Additionally, applications you use does not take space on your cloud storage.

An application in Karaqu is distributed as single zip file and includes all resources utilized by the application; consisting of code, style, fonts, media files, images, webassembly files, etc and are unpacked during runtime. This discreet installation procedure keeps network traffic and filesize to a minimum. An application is only downloaded if there is a newer version available. Example; the audio processing tool ImAudio (screenshot available below) is only 216 KB in Karaqu.
The installation filesize for corresponding applications in traditional OS's varies between 15—110 MB.

Not only the software in Karaqu are fractions of traditional software but the platform itself is extremely small (346 KB) and lightning fast. In comparison; the empty Google search page is 755 KB and clean installation of OS's varies between 2-10 GB. Keep in mind that it is not only sender / receiver computers involved in network traffic - a bunch of nodes are involved when transfering files to your computer. Arguably, this is analogous to driving a tractor on the highway, forcing everyone to slow down and using excess energy in the process.

The main reason big tech companies are harvesting & selling user data, consequently showing ads everywhere is quite simple; they are not able to create services users want to pay for. Are you willing to pay for Facebook, Instagram och Google Search service? Hence they sell information about their users to 3rd parties. This cycle makes it easy to monitize simplistic solutions; quick shortcuts and short-term gains kills innovation.

There are no ads in Karaqu and user data is never collected to be sold - EVER!
On the contrary, we aim to protect our users data from big tech at all cost. Eventually VPN will be included for all of Karaqu users.
